Scientific discussion acquires genuine value when it brings together relevant research ideas, professional perspectives, and a commitment to advancing contemporary legal scholarship.
On 8 May 2026, an extraordinary meeting of the Academic Council of the Private Institution “Scientific Institute of Maritime and Space Law” was held remotely. The central item on the agenda was the consideration of the collection of conference abstracts from the Scientific and Practical Conference “Current Issues of Administrative Law”, named after Academician Vadym Averianov.
The research papers included in the collection cover a broad range of issues in contemporary administrative law, public administration, and legal regulation. The authors address both fundamental questions of administrative law scholarship and emerging challenges associated with the digital transformation of the state, the activities of public authorities, the protection of human rights, healthcare, and the development of e-governance.
Particular attention is devoted to the role of the university as a subject of public administration amid the algorithmic transformation of the state, the interaction between legal scholarship and the judiciary, administrative and legal support for youth policy, the protection of the rights and interests of children, the procedure for preparing an administrative act, as well as issues concerning the organization and supervision of notarial activities.
A significant place is also given to research on administrative and legal support in the healthcare sector, the development of e-governance in the provision of administrative services, the legal regulation of inheritance relations, and the organization of the activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
Such a wide thematic range demonstrates that contemporary administrative law scholarship is actively responding to changes in social relations and is increasingly focused on understanding the real processes taking place within the state. From digitalization to medical law, from the activities of the prosecutor’s office to the protection of children’s rights, each of the areas represented reflects current challenges facing Ukraine’s legal system today.
Following consideration of the materials, the Academic Council unanimously approved the collection of conference abstracts and recommended it for publication.
The decision is significant not only for the further dissemination of the research findings. It also contributes to the development of professional academic communication, the dissemination of contemporary legal concepts, and the creation of a platform for further discussion on administrative law and public administration.
As noted in the meeting materials, the decision of the Academic Council will contribute to the dissemination of contemporary legal research and the development of academic discussion on administrative law, public administration, the activities of public authorities, and the legal regulation of social relations.
For the Scientific Institute of Maritime and Space Law, holding such meetings is an important component of systematic research activity. They provide opportunities for professional discussion of research findings, their academic assessment, and their subsequent presentation to the wider scholarly community.
Scientific thought develops through discussion, while its results gain significance when they become accessible to the professional community. Approving the collection for publication is another step toward the development of contemporary administrative law scholarship and the strengthening of academic dialogue in Ukraine.
