The Scientific Institute of Maritime and Space Law continues to scale its research ecosystem and expand cross-sectoral tracks by integrating modern medical-legal practices into its academic workflow. A recent step in this direction was the official implementation of the dissertation research of Stanislav Yaroslavskyi, dedicated to information legal relations in the medical sector of Ukraine.
A designated IMSL commission carefully reviewed the materials, assessed their compliance with academic standards, and identified their tangible added value for the Institute’s research domains. In practice, this strengthens our R&D framework across medical information law, digital health, health-care innovation, and the legal architecture of eHealth systems.
During the review, IMSL experts confirmed that several findings of the research are already applied in the Institute’s analytical and scientific outputs, including:
- analysis of European and national eHealth standards;
- development of legal models for medical information systems;
- unification of digital security concepts in health care;
- participation in projects related to legal solutions for the protection of patients’ personal data;
- regulatory support for medical innovations.
The Commission concluded unequivocally: the results of Stanislav Yaroslavskyi’s dissertation hold significant practical value and are considered officially integrated into the scientific activity of the Institute.
This case illustrates IMSL’s strategic trajectory: combining maritime, space, and cross-sectoral legal research; integrating advanced technologies into legal frameworks; and shaping new-generation expert platforms. The Institute will continue attracting promising academic developments and scaling them into practical projects that contribute to the development of national legal and scientific infrastructure.
