The Research Institute of Maritime and Space Law Considered the Results of a Dissertation on the Legal Status of a Contractor

A meeting of the Commission was held at the Scientific-Research Institute of Maritime and Space Law, during which the results of the dissertation research conducted by postgraduate researcher Volodymyr Illich Lozko on the topic “The Legal Status of a Contractor in Construction in Ukraine” were considered.

During the meeting, a comprehensive analysis of the theoretical provisions and practical conclusions of the research was carried out, aimed at improving the mechanisms of legal regulation in the construction sector. Particular attention was paid to issues of public administration in construction, the formation of a comprehensive legal status of the contractor, as well as the harmonisation of national legislation with European regulatory and technical standards.

In the course of the discussion, the applied potential of the dissertation research for the Institute’s scientific activity was emphasised. In particular, the possibility of using certain findings of the study in the development of concepts for legal support of construction processes, the integration of digital registers of construction contracts, and the application of BIM technologies as a legal instrument for recording obligations and ensuring transparency in the construction process was noted.

As a result of the review, the Commission concluded that the dissertation research demonstrated a sufficient theoretical level and significant scientific value. A decision was adopted to implement selected research results in the scientific activities of the Scientific-Research Institute of Maritime and Space Law, which was formalised by a relevant act.

The meeting became another confirmation of the Institute’s strategic focus on the practical integration of relevant legal research into contemporary processes of public administration and legal regulation in Ukraine.
