Meeting of the Academy of Administrative and Legal Sciences: Personnel Decisions, Institutional Strengthening, and a Value-Based Development Vector

A regular meeting of the Academy of Administrative and Legal Sciences was held, becoming a significant event for the academic and legal community and outlining further organizational and value-oriented directions for the Academy’s development.

During the meeting, a number of important decisions were adopted. In particular, new members were admitted to the Academy, substantially strengthening its academic potential and expert capacity in the field of administrative and legal research.

A key personnel decision was the re-election of the Head of the Academy of Administrative and Legal Sciences. For the next two-year term, Valentyn Vasylovych Halunko—a renowned scholar and co-founder of the Scientific-Research Institute of Maritime and Space Law—was once again elected as Head of the Academy. This decision confirms the high level of trust in his academic authority and managerial effectiveness.

The General Assembly was attended by Andrii Ivanyshchuk, Director of the Scientific-Research Institute of Maritime and Space Law, which underscores the Institute’s consistent integration into broader academic processes. Researchers of the Institute, Serhii Rozsokha and Mykhailo Odukha, also took part in the meeting, contributing to professional discussions and the development of consolidated decisions.

A separate, fourth item on the agenda concerned the institutional strengthening of the Academy’s governing bodies. Following discussion, a decision was adopted to increase the number of members of the Academy’s Board from 6 to 9, aimed at enhancing governance efficiency, representation, and the effectiveness of collegial management amid the expansion of academic activities.

In addition, other organizational and academic issues related to the Academy’s current activities and future development prospects were considered during the meeting.

An important outcome of the meeting was also the adoption of the Dignity Memorandum of the Academy of Administrative and Legal Sciences—a programmatic document that establishes ethical standards, principles of academic integrity, and the responsibility of the scholarly community to society and the state. The adoption of the Memorandum represents a strategic step toward building a mature, responsible, and value-driven academic institution.
